Making a deliberate choice to go with the will of God on all occasions is the fourth component of true worship. Choose the will of God in all situations above all else. Jesus demonstrated this for all believers in the Garden of Gethsemane. In today’s Bible passage we see that Jesus didn’t want to die on the cross. He appealed that God the Father should let the cup pass over him but the Father declined thrice and Jesus said, “If it is your will, then I submit to it.” As a follower of Christ, you must learn to accept His yoke, whether you enjoy it or not. Don’t be a fickle Christian that only obeys what is enjoyable. Believers that give partial obedience or complete disobedience to the will of God cannot worship Him in spirit and in truth.
When you make a habit of choosing God’s will above family and yourself; and letting the will of God cross out their will or your will, you are becoming a true worshipper. It is a major aspect of worship and that makes your singing meaningful before God. Imagine that you are an engineer or doctor and God called you to be a pastor in full-time ministry and you yield, you are a true worshipper. Before you call, God will answer. He will use your life to display His greatness and glory to the world.
PRAYER: Lord, is there anywhere I am in partial or full disobedience? Show me and I will make amends in Jesus’ name.
