In God’s Kingdom, obedience is not merely about convenience; it is about recognising God’s authority over every aspect of our lives. When a believer understands that he belongs to God’s Kingdom, he acknowledges that God has the right to direct his actions, resources, and decisions. Jesus taught that faithfulness in stewardship is an important test in the Kingdom when He said, “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much” (Luke 16:10). Acts that demonstrate this faithfulness show that a believer is not merely claiming God’s promises but is genuinely submitted to His rule. Such acts move the hand of God because they reveal a heart that recognises His lordship.

A powerful example of this principle can be seen in the life of Abraham. God once asked Abraham to offer his son Isaac as a sacrifice (Genesis 22:1-2). This instruction was not simply about giving something valuable; it was about obedience and trust. Isaac was not only Abraham’s son but also the child of promise. Yet Abraham demonstrated submission to God by preparing to obey the instruction without hesitation. This act revealed that Abraham valued God above even the most precious thing in his life. When God saw Abraham’s obedience, He intervened and provided a substitute for the sacrifice. Abraham’s act of submission moved the hand of God and brought a renewed covenant blessing upon his life. This story shows that when believers obey God wholeheartedly, even in difficult circumstances, their obedience attracts divine favour.

Sometimes God may ask for something that touches what we value most. It may not necessarily be the most expensive possession but the thing we hold most dearly. When a believer responds with obedience, it demonstrates genuine submission to God’s authority. Such obedience is powerful in the Kingdom of God because it shows that God’s voice carries greater weight than personal preferences. When believers cultivate this attitude of obedience, they position themselves for greater trust and greater responsibility in God’s Kingdom. Acts that prove genuine submission to God’s authority consistently move His hand to act on behalf of those who honour Him.

THOUGHT TO PONDER

Is there anything in my life that I value more than obedience to God? What step of obedience might God be asking me to take today?

PRAYER

Father, help me cultivate a heart of complete obedience to You. Teach me to respond to Your instructions with faith and trust so that my life reflects true submission to Your Kingdom, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

Joshua 19:1-20:9, Luke 19:28-48, Psalm 88:1-18, Proverbs 13:12-14

[1
476
post-8153","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized","tag-devotional
["GET
