O<\/span>ne of the hidden dangers in service, especially in the work of God, is exhaustion that goes unnoticed until damage is done. Many people give sincerely, pour themselves out faithfully, and yet ignore the quiet toll it takes on their bodies, minds, and emotions. Mercy is God\u2019s provision for those moments. Paul spoke of Onesiphorus as a man who refreshed him repeatedly and was not ashamed of his chains (2 Timothy 1:16\u201318). That refreshment attracted mercy. This teaches us that mercy is not only released to those who carry burdens, but also to those who help carry them. Service that lightens another person\u2019s load places you directly in the path of divine mercy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Epaphroditus is another clear example. He was not just a messenger; he was a fellow labourer who ministered to Paul\u2019s needs. His dedication pushed him to the brink of death, yet Scripture records that \u201cGod had mercy on him\u201d (Philippians 2:27). Notice that mercy did not only heal him; it also spared Paul from sorrow upon sorrow. Mercy preserved both the servant and the assignment. This reveals an important truth: God is deeply concerned about the well-being of those who serve Him sincerely. Ministry, whether on a pulpit or behind the scenes, can be demanding. But mercy ensures that service does not destroy the servant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When God sees genuine labour, He releases preservation.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Your responsibility today is to value mercy as much as you value service. Do not glorify burnout or treat exhaustion as proof of faithfulness. Mercy is available to sustain you, heal you, and restore strength when service stretches you. If you are serving God faithfully; whether as a minister, worker, supporter, or helper, expect mercy to speak for your body, mind, and household. Mercy knows how to repair what service has strained. As you continue in obedience, trust that God is not blind to your labour. He sees, He remembers, and He responds with mercy that preserves you for the long journey ahead. Service may cost you energy, but mercy will restore it and keep you standing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THOUGHT TO PONDER:<\/strong> Have I been serving without leaning on God\u2019s mercy for preservation? What area of my life needs God\u2019s sustaining mercy right now?<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
