O<\/span>ne of the most liberating truths a believer can discover is that outcomes in life are not determined by effort alone. Many people run, strive, pray, and labour, yet results differ sharply. Scripture explains this mystery plainly: \u201cIt is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy\u201d (Romans 9:16). Mercy is the unseen factor that separates similar efforts into vastly different outcomes. Two people may do the same thing, yet mercy rests on one and not the other. When you understand this, pride dies and gratitude rises. You stop over-crediting human strength and start recognising divine involvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is why biblical testimonies should not intimidate you but instruct you. The men and women we admire in Scripture were not superhuman; they found mercy. When mercy was withdrawn from Saul, his life spiralled despite his position and anointing (1 Samuel 13). When mercy rested on others, they triumphed beyond explanation. Mercy preserves direction, clarity, and access to God\u2019s voice. It is the reason some survive sickness while others do not, even when circumstances appear similar. Mercy is not random; it is God\u2019s deliberate choice to intervene. The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear Him (Psalm 103:17).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That means mercy sustains destinies across seasons, not just moments.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Your response to this truth must be humility and dependence. Stop comparing journeys and measuring yourself against others. What you need is not more running, but sustained mercy. Ask God to keep His mercy active in your life. Guard your reverence for Him, because mercy rests on those who fear Him. When mercy is present, your voice remains sweet in God\u2019s ears and access is preserved. Refuse to take outcomes for granted. Every progress you see is mercy at work. As you move forward, anchor your confidence on the mercy that makes the difference. If mercy stays, your journey remains secure. If mercy leads, your destination will be reached. Let this awareness deepen your prayer life, soften your heart, and keep you dependent on God, because no destiny survives long without mercy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
