O<\/span>ne of the greatest destroyers of marriages and destinies is hidden secrets. The Bible says, \u201cFor nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad\u201d (Luke 8:17). Whatever you hide today will eventually surface tomorrow, often at the worst time. Secrets are time bombs; they look silent but explode when the weight of marriage presses on them. Many enter relationships concealing addictions, debts, immoral pasts, or double lives, hoping that marriage will erase them. Marriage does not erase things; it magnifies. A wrong foundation of secrecy will not produce peace. Proverbs 28:13 says, \u201cHe that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.\u201d Covering sin guarantees frustration, but confession and repentance open the door to mercy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have seen young people pretend in courtship, wearing masks of spirituality, only to shock their spouse after marriage. Some hide pornography addictions, some cover dangerous temper issues, while others deceive with falsified achievements. These masks may fool men but cannot deceive God. The devil loves hidden things because he rules in darkness. Secrets become his foothold; he whispers condemnation, fear, and shame, keeping you in bondage. Transparency is not weakness; it is strength. Hiding makes you vulnerable, but light makes you free. Any relationship where you cannot be open about your past, struggles, and journey is already sick. If you are ashamed to tell your intended spouse who you really are, you are not ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marriage is not two actors playing roles\u2014it is two destinies merging in truth.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Application: (1) Bring every hidden matter into the light before marriage. Truth may sting temporarily, but lies will strangle permanently. (2) Seek godly counsel if you struggle with confession; let a shepherd guide you into freedom. (3) Trust God\u2019s mercy. Don\u2019t let shame lock you in prison\u2014repentance and restitution are keys to restoration. (4) Watch out for those who avoid questions or over-explain\u2014they may be hiding something. (5) Build your relationship on openness from the start. When you walk in light, the devil loses his grip. My decree over you: every hidden work of darkness in your life is exposed and destroyed. You will not marry under disguise. Your union will be built on truth, light, and the mercy of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THOUGHT TO PONDER:<\/strong> Am I carrying hidden issues that could destroy my future marriage? Do I value transparency enough to walk in the light, no matter the cost?<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
