T<\/span>hanksgiving must be directed, not dispersed. \u201cNot unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory\u201d (Ps. 115:1, KJV). Men, systems, and circumstances are channels; God is the Source \u2014 the unchanging Changer behind the changing scenes of your life. When you transfer to the channel what belongs to the Source, you despise God without knowing. Begin by returning glory to Him openly and first; then honour the channels accurately and appropriately. Say, \u201cGod did it,\u201d and act like it \u2014 come with fitting words, a right posture, and a memorial seed. Acknowledge parents and helpers too; gratitude to men does not diminish God\u2019s honour when God is thanked first and most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your thanksgiving must also be willing. In David\u2019s day, \u201cthe people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly\u201d (1 Chr. 29:9, KJV). Forced thanks is hollow; reluctant honour carries no weight before Heaven. Let willingness rise from revelation: If the Lord had not been there, the enemy needed only moments to finish the job. The breath in your nostrils, the doors that opened, the traps you did not see \u2014 all point to a present Help. Willing gratitude opens doors and keeps them oiled; ingratitude breeds a smell that closes hearts and shuts favour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Choose the path that pleases God: prompt, cheerful, Source-first thanksgiving.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Practically, adopt a two-step rhythm. Step one \u2014 Source: return to God with precise words that name His intervention, a posture you would not offer to a man, and a tangible offering that fits the mercy. Step two \u2014 channels: send the message, make the call, write the note, pay the visit, or give the gift \u201caccording to weight.\u201d Keep your thanksgiving timely; stale thanks loses edge. Refuse sentences that centre \u201cI\u201d \u2014 competence, cleverness, connections \u2014 and centre \u201cThou\u201d \u2014 mercy, faithfulness, power. When your thanks is directed and willing, Heaven records honour correctly, your heart stays low, and future help finds you faster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THOUGHT TO PONDER:<\/strong> Have I misdirected glory to channels while neglecting the Source? What cheerful, timely act will return glory to God first \u2014 and how will I honour the people He used today?<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

PRI\u00c8RE:<\/strong> Lord, not unto us but to Your name be the glory. I return thanks to You first and fully; help me honour every channel willingly and wisely, in Jesus\u2019 name. Amen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n\t\t
