T<\/span>here are two major ways you can pray: in the Spirit and your understanding. When you pray in the Spirit, it is by the filling of the Holy Ghost which comes as evidence of speaking in tongues. The evidence of the presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer is marked by the receipt of a new prayer language that is known as speaking in tongues. Holy Ghost baptism describes the reality and experience of being filled with the Holy Spirit. The ministry of the Holy Spirit provides divine assistance and gives you an advantage as a believer in having unrestrained access to the resources of God.<\/p>\n

The devil, however, has succeeded over time in causing the children of God to deny themselves access to this great assistant that is also known as the Comforter (John 14:26). By creating controversy around the subject of speaking in tongues, many Christians have been reduced to doing ordinary religious activities without evidence of God\u2019s power in their lives and ministries because of their denial and ignorance of the Holy Ghost.<\/p>\n

As a child of God, it is important to always ensure that your spiritual experiences tally with the Bible and not just with your church position.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This is because it is possible for your church position not to align with the Bible. The Bible says, \u201cAnd these signs will follow those who believe: In My name, they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;\u2019 (Mk 16:17). The only place in the Bible where you see speaking in tongues in practical demonstration was in the book of Acts of the Apostles.<\/p>\n

Some people believe that at the same moment you get born again, you are automatically baptised in the Holy Ghost. In other words, they think the two experiences happen concurrently. According to the Bible, however, these are two distinct experiences and do not happen together. They can happen on the same day for some people, but they are separate experiences.<\/p>\n
