W<\/span>e are still on the subject of the Holy Spirit supplying grace to us to help our infirmities. Let us see more on this.<\/p>\n

In accessing the grace provided by the ministry of the Holy Spirit, He brings comfort to us by speaking words of encouragement to our hearts. Due to the use of the word \u201ccomfort\u201d in day-to-day living, we have developed a narrow conception of the Person and ministry of the Holy Spirit as the Comforter.<\/p>\n

Comfort in the New Testament context means much more than whatever our modern English translation can convey, especially when it relates to the work and Person of the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n

\n

When we talk of the Holy Spirit and His work, it conveys the following thoughts:
a) To be empowered
b) To enable
c) To be strengthened<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I like the thought of William Berkeley on the translation of \u201cparakletos\u201d into the word \u201cComforter\u201d. He was certainly not saying that the sole or even the main function of the Holy Spirit was to comfort and console in our sense of words; he meant that \u201cthe function of the Holy Spirit was to fill a man with that Spirit of power and courage which would make him able to triumphantly cope with life\u201d. I think that is one of the best commentaries on the ministry of the Holy Ghost as the Comforter. William Berkeley talked about the kind of comfort the Holy Spirit gives: \u201cIt is that kind of comfort and consolation in distress which keeps a man on his feet, such that when left to himself, he would collapse. It is the comfort which enables a man to pass the breaking point and not break.\u201d<\/p>\n

PRAYER<\/strong>: I receive the comfort of the Holy Spirit to be empowered, enabled, and strengthened against every negative pressure from the enemy in Jesus\u2019 name. Amen!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\t\t
