C<\/span>orrect intercession flows from intimacy with God. Abraham\u2019s intercession came out of his intimacy with the Lord. In Genesis 18:17, God says, \u201cCan I hide from Abraham that thing which I do?\u201d Abraham and God were so close that he was called God\u2019s friend (Jam. 2:23). You need to step up in your relationship with the Father just as Abraham was with God, such that you can come into God\u2019s presence and sense the Father\u2019s feelings while He also expresses His concerns to you. This is a place where you seek His face, He tells you His mind, and the Holy Spirit comes upon you to birth forth the mind of God.<\/p>\n

God is always looking for an individual that He can share the burden of His heart with; a person that will take up His burden in the place of intercession.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

According to Ezekiel 22:30, God is always in search of a man who will stand in the gap before Him for a land, a family, an individual, nations, etc., so that He will not destroy them. It is never God\u2019s will to destroy the righteous with the wicked. So, He gives room for intervention and intercession.<\/p>\n

In today\u2019s text, the burden on the heart of God was the great iniquity of Sodom and Gomorrah and He wanted to wipe them out. However, He wanted somebody to stand in the gap to plead their case. When God begins to share the burden of His heart like a friend, He is looking for somebody to pick up that burden.<\/p>\n
