Many believers unconsciously live as though God is merely watching from heaven while they struggle through life alone. Yet the Bible presents a very different picture of God. The God of Scripture is not an observer standing at a distance; He is a personal God who desires to be actively involved in the affairs of His people. When the Bible says, “Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save” (Isaiah 59:1 KJV), it is telling us that God’s ability to intervene has never diminished. If His hand seems absent in a man’s life, the problem is not that God has withdrawn His power but that the man has not aligned himself with the things that activate God’s involvement. It is possible to live your entire life without positioning yourself for the movement of God’s hand in your favour. Sadly, it is also possible to live in ways that provoke His hand against you. This is why Christianity must never be treated as a casual relationship. It is a covenant relationship with responsibilities on both sides. When you fulfil your part in that covenant, God responds by fulfilling His own part.
