Do Not Play Games With Holy Things
Another act that moves the hand of God in a believer’s favour is treating the things of God with seriousness and honour. One of the dangers in spiritual life is becoming casual with sacred matters. When people begin to treat God’s work, His instructions, and His kingdom responsibilities lightly, they unknowingly position themselves outside the flow of divine favour. God responds differently to those who approach Him with reverence and commitment. The Bible says, “Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear” (Hebrews 12:28). When believers maintain this posture of reverence, they demonstrate that they understand the value of their relationship with God.
In every generation, God entrusts responsibilities to people. Some individuals treat those responsibilities as sacred assignments, while others treat them casually. The difference between these two attitudes often determines the level of divine involvement in their lives. Scripture records God’s declaration: “Them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed” (1 Samuel 2:30). Honour toward God is expressed through obedience, commitment, and sincerity in handling the things that concern His kingdom. When believers recognise that they are partners with God in a covenant relationship, they stop approaching spiritual matters with indifference. Instead, they become conscious that their actions toward God and His work carry lasting spiritual consequences.
Believers must therefore guard their hearts against becoming neutral or careless in their walk with God. Spiritual neutrality may appear harmless, but it slowly weakens a believer’s commitment to the things that matter in God’s kingdom. The more seriously a person treats God’s instructions and responsibilities, the more room they create for divine favour to operate in their lives. God is not an uninterested observer watching human activity from a distance; He is a covenant partner who responds to the attitudes and actions of His children. When believers choose to honour Him consistently in their lives, they position themselves under the active involvement of His hand.
THOUGHT TO PONDER

PRAYER
Father, give me a heart that honours You sincerely. Help me treat Your work and Your instructions with reverence so that my life continually reflects devotion to You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
