12 March 2026: MERCY OPENS THE DOOR BEFORE POWER WALKS IN – Luke 8:43–48; Hebrews 4:16

Many people desire the power of God, but few understand the pathway through which that power flows freely: mercy. Power does not respond to desperation alone; it responds to faith that is anchored in mercy. The woman with the issue of blood pressed through the crowd, not merely because she was desperate, but because she had come to a conclusion: mercy was accessible (Luke 8:43–48). She did not ask for permission. She did not negotiate worthiness. She reached out because mercy had already opened the door. Her touch was not casual; it was informed by understanding. When mercy grants access, power becomes reachable.

One of the reasons many prayers remain unanswered is that people approach God from a position of fear rather than confidence. Yet Scripture invites us to “come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). Notice the order: mercy first, then help. Mercy creates acceptance. It removes the intimidation that keeps people at a distance. When mercy is received, prayer changes from begging to believing. The woman was not healed because she touched Jesus; she was healed because mercy allowed power to flow without resistance. Jesus Himself said, “Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole.”

Faith worked because mercy had already made access possible.

Your posture today must change if you want consistent experiences of God’s power. Stop approaching God as though He is withholding help. Mercy has already made provision. When mercy opens the door, you are permitted to come close without fear of rejection. This is why intimacy with God grows stronger when mercy is understood. You pray better, listen better, and receive more freely. Power is not scarce; access is the issue. And mercy is the key that unlocks it. As you walk forward, remember this truth: when mercy grants you access, power does not struggle to manifest. It flows naturally, restoring, healing, and transforming everything it touches.

THOUGHT TO PONDER: Am I approaching God boldly through mercy or hesitantly through fear? What step of faith do I need to take now that access has been granted?

PRIÈRE: Father, thank You for Your mercy that gives me access to You. Help me to come boldly and receive the help I need, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
