23 February 2026: SEAL THE DECISION: DON’T LET DOUBT STEAL THE SEED – Luke 8:12; 1 John 5:13

The devil is not impressed that somebody raised a hand in church; his real target is to snatch the Word before it settles. That is why many people “respond” today and reset tomorrow: because nobody sealed the decision. Jesus showed you the strategy of Satan: the Word is sown, then the devil comes “lest they should believe and be saved (Luke 8:12 KJV).” So don’t be surprised when a new convert starts hearing strange thoughts: “Did anything happen?” “Maybe I didn’t pray well.” “God will not accept me.” That is not humility; it is robbery. Salvation is not a feeling. If you don’t help the person understand that, the enemy will use doubt to out the seed.

I want you to catch this: assurance of salvation is part of discipleship. John said, “These things have I written… that ye may know that ye have eternal life (1 John 5:13 KJV).” Not guess. Not hope. Know. When a man truly receives Christ, he may not feel fireworks, but heaven records it. The devil loves emotional Christians: up today, down tomorrow: because emotions are easy to manipulate. Teach the new believer to stand on the Word, not on mood. The moment he believes, he is saved; the moment he confesses Jesus as Lord, he has changed ownership. And if the devil can’t stop the salvation, he will try to confuse the convert, isolate him from fellowship, and drag him back to old habits, so that shame will silence him and condemnation will weaken him.

That is why follow-up is not optional; it is protection.

So be practical. Once a person responds, don’t rush off as if the job is done. Sit with him briefly, then begin to disciple him. Give him simple Scriptures to read daily and teach him to confess them aloud when doubt comes. Get him into fellowship quickly; isolation is danger. Help him form new habits: Bible, prayer, and fellowship: then continue to check on his progress. If old friends are pulling him, guide him to create distance and connect with believers who will strengthen him. If he falls, don’t condemn him; restore him and keep him walking. Let him know God is not looking for perfection before acceptance; God is looking for sincerity and growth. When you seal the decision early, you frustrate Satan’s theft and you turn a decision into a disciple.

THOUGHT TO PONDER: Have I helped new believers gain assurance, or have I left them vulnerable to doubt? What step will I take this week to “seal” someone’s decision through follow-up and fellowship?

PRIÈRE: Father, keep every seed of salvation in my care. Establish new believers in assurance and growth, and frustrate every attack of doubt, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
