13 February 2026: TURN YOUR FRIENDSHIPS INTO A HARVEST FIELD – John 1:45-46; 1 Corinthians 9:22

Some people will argue with a stranger and resist him, but they will listen to a friend over lunch. That is why friendship is not just social: it is strategic. Philip didn’t drag Nathanael into a crusade; he simply said, “Come and see (John 1:46 KJV).” Many believers are waiting for an evangelism moment, yet God has already placed souls inside their phonebook, office desk-row, neighbourhood, and family circle. The gospel travels fast on the road of relationship because trust opens the ear. If a man respects you, he will hear you. But if your friendships are only for jokes, food, and business, you are wasting a powerful channel.

There are two levels of friendship evangelism. First, the friends you already have who are not saved: don’t pamper that matter. Love them, respect them, but don’t be silent. Approach them from a spiritual point of view; don’t depend on natural ability or the respect they have for you. Start with intercession, let God open their heart, then speak with warmth and clarity. Set a clean example in character because hypocrisy cancels your message. Use simple conversations, identify their pain-point, and let your testimony carry weight: ‘This is what Jesus did for me.’ Second, deliberately make friends with people to win them to Christ. Paul said he became ‘all things to all men’ (1 Corinthians 9:22 KJV): not by sinning, but by understanding people, entering their world, and giving them Christ in a language they can digest. If you can’t relate, you may never reach.

Now do a friendship survey: who are your friends, how many are saved, and who around you is a potential friend that needs Jesus?

If you discover your circle is only believers, you are enjoying fellowship but neglecting harvest. Ask God for grace to build bridges without compromise. Invite them to a setting: a meal, a visit, a ride, a simple chat: then bring the gospel naturally and clearly. Identify a friend’s area of need, share your testimony, and invite them to church. Don’t make them a project; love them like a soul that matters. And set boundaries: no one should be your close friend if they drag you into sin or mock your faith. Choose closeness with the godly but keep your heart open to the lost: because God didn’t save you to form a holy clique; He saved you to rescue men.

THOUGHT TO PONDER: Have I turned my friendships into a bridge to Jesus or a comfort zone? Who will I invite today with a simple “come and see”?

PRIÈRE: Lord, give me love and wisdom to build bridges to the lost without compromise. Use my friendships to bring souls to Jesus and help me follow up faithfully. Amen.
