The Holy Spirit will reveal the tasks and plans for your future today. He will bring you the programs of your future, the things you must start doing now if you are going to be ready for what He has arranged for you later. Revelation is completely God’s part, but manifestation requires your active participation. When I was young, I had divine revelations and dreams that showed me glimpses of my future. I knew I was called to the ministry, but I did not have the full details. After I became genuinely born again, God gave me a very simple instruction. He told me to read the Bible four times every year. No extra vision, no prophecy, just that instruction. For several years He did not add anything else. It was not an exciting assignment, but it was a major part of the programs of my future. I kept doing it. Years later someone heard me preach for three hours without stopping and marvelled that I could sustain that flow. What they saw as a gift was actually the harvest of those quiet years of obeying a simple instruction.
The future should not catch you unawares. If you are going to manifest significantly, you will see it in the programs God has given you to nurture today. You can often discern people who are heading for a great future by watching what they are doing with their present. Somebody who is careless with his present is already squandering his future. Proverbs tells us there is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish man spends it all (Proverbs 21:20). If you spend all your earnings and even borrow on top of it, you are consuming your future. If you follow God’s instruction and save a percentage, you are building a prosperous financial future. Living only for today, eating everything, watching anything and doing nothing serious with your time is living like an animal that thinks only of the immediate moment. The Holy Spirit will often put these future programs in your heart as quiet instructions, maybe to study a particular subject, to sit under a certain teaching, to learn a skill, to pray at a set time or to adjust your spending.
I want you to take this very seriously as you continue in 2026. Ask yourself honestly, what programs has God already given me that I am treating lightly.
Is it a reading schedule, a prayer routine, a commitment to serve in a particular place, a saving pattern, a discipline over my appetite, a training I keep postponing. These are not random ideas, they are the Holy Spirit preparing you so that when your future arrives, you are not standing before an open door as an unprepared man. Decide that you will no longer consume everything in your hand or waste your hours on trivialities. Begin to respond intelligently to the nudges of the Spirit. Write down the instructions He has given you and arrange your daily life around them. The seeds of ten years from now are sitting in the obedience of today.
THOUGHT TO PONDER: What specific instructions or routines has the Holy Spirit already given you that are part of the programs of your future, and how have you treated them so far? What practical adjustments will you start making from today so that you stop consuming your future and start preparing actively for it?
PRIÈRE: Holy Spirit, open my eyes to the programs of my future and help me to obey them faithfully so I can arrive at my destiny prepared and fruitful. Amen.
