Confidence gives you stature in the spirit. Without it, you stand before God and the devil like a beggar; with it, you stand as a son. Proverbs says, “The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion” (Prov. 28:1). That boldness is not arrogance—it is the right response of a man who knows his standing in Christ. Many Christians kneel to pray, but in their heart they are crouching, intimidated by guilt, fear, or the memory of failure. The result is a shaky prayer life that has no bite. Confidence makes you rise as a lion, even when your voice is low. It gives weight to your words before God and authority to your decrees before the enemy.
Ephesians 3:12 says, “In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.” Boldness and access come together—they are not separate gifts. You cannot have access to God without the boldness to take it. It is like a child who has keys to his father’s house but never opens the door because he is too timid. Many believers live like that: they have access by the blood of Jesus, but no confidence to use it. So, they hang around the gate of answered prayer instead of entering in.
Confidence is what makes you walk into God’s throne room, not shaking, but standing tall, assured that you belong there.
I want you to settle this truth in your heart today: confidence is not an option; it is a requirement. Stop approaching God like a visitor; start approaching Him like a son. When you kneel to pray, remind yourself that the blood has granted you bold access. Shake off guilt and timidity; refuse the devil’s intimidation. Stand tall before God because of Christ, and stand tall before the devil because of victory. From today, decide that no matter what comes, your confidence will not be thrown away. If you will guard it, you will see answers that others only dream of.
THOUGHT TO PONDER: Do I stand before God as a son with boldness, or as a beggar with fear? How will I daily guard my access with confidence through Christ?
PRIÈRE: Father, thank You for the bold access I have in Christ. Help me to stand tall in prayer, fearless before men and Satan, and confident before Your throne, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
