20 September 2022: SOME FACTS ABOUT OFFERINGS – Genesis 4:3-12; 8:20-22

Today, I want to show you some critical facts about offerings that will help ensure that every offering you give to the Lord will be acceptable unto Him if you take heed to and apply them.

1. There is a spirit behind every offering you give.
2. God responds to that spirit.
3. There is a personality that is revealed by your offering. You are not different from your offering. If you are not right, your offering will not be accepted. Consider Cain and Abel in Genesis 4:4-5.
4. There is a nature behind each offering. The issue is, how did you get the offering? Is the offering clean or dirty?

5. What spirit does God want to accompany our offerings?
a) A spirit of reverence (Mal. 1:6).
b) A spirit of honour (Pro. 3:9-10).
c) A spirit of faith (Mat. 23:23; Heb. 11:3).
d) A spirit of gratitude (Deut. 28:47).
e) A spirit of love. (Joh. 21:15-17).
f) A spirit of joy (2 Cor. 9:7).
g) A spirit of expectancy – you plough in hope (Pro. 23:18)
h) A spirit of truth (Act. 5:1-3)
i) A spirit of purpose (Deut. 8:18).
j) A spirit of understanding (Pro. 4:5).
k) A spirit of purity (Psa. 24:3-5).
l) A spirit of sacrifice (Heb. 11:17-19).
m) A spirit of compassion (Mat. 23:23).

6. When God rejected some offerings, it was because of the spirit behind the offering.

Examples of rejected offerings:
a. Cain’s offering (Gen. 4:3-7).
b. Nadab and Abihu (Lev. 10:1-2).
c. The sons of Eli (1 Sam. 2:12-17).

Live conscious of your seedtime and your harvest will know no bounds.

PRIÈRE: Father, I thank You for showing me these truths. I receive grace to offer acceptable offerings to You in Jesus’ name. Amen!
