27 February 2026: DIVINE APPOINTMENTS DON’T WAIT FOR SLOPPY CHRISTIANS – Acts 8:29-30; Colossians 4:5

Most people miss souls, not because they hate evangelism, but because they don’t recognise moments. God can sit a prepared heart beside you, and you will be scrolling like eternity is on hold. “Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time (Colossians 4:5 KJV).” Some moments are green lights: if you delay, the light changes and the door closes. Don’t make soul winning a “when I have time” matter; that is how divine appointments pass you like a bus you were meant to enter. The Holy Spirit can nudge you in two minutes at a counter, in a lift, in a taxi, or after a meeting; if you postpone it, fear will vote, and the moment will pass. So, keep your mouth ready; don’t be forming the gospel on the spot like examination. Have a simple, clean way to present Jesus, and be quick to obey when the opening comes. Stop waiting for a crusade atmosphere before you obey; God often saves men in ordinary places, on ordinary days.

Look at Philip. He didn’t wake up planning to meet an Ethiopian, yet the Spirit said, “Go near, and join thyself to this chariot (Acts 8:26 KJV).” Philip ran, listened, and found a man already reading Scripture: already searching, already ripe. The chariot was moving, but Philip didn’t complain about inconvenience; he moved with it. He asked one wise question, and he didn’t jump to condemnation; he offered understanding and pointed to Christ. That is divine timing. Learn to discern the ripe from the reckless. Some people only want to argue; they are not hungry, just noisy. Others are quiet but concentrating, tired of emptiness, and looking for truth. Wisdom is to locate the listener, not to wrestle the heckler.

If you catch the hungry one, you have caught a door into a whole house.

So train your spirit for divine appointments. Start your day yielded: “Lord, order my steps”: and keep your eyes open for openings: a complaint that reveals pain, a crisis, a compliment, a curiosity about your faith. Ask short, respectful questions and listen well; the ear that listens will find the heart. When you sense readiness, don’t delay; share your testimony briefly, present the gospel plainly, and lead them to Christ. If they are not ready, don’t quarrel, leave a seed, keep moving, and keep them on your prayer list.

THOUGHT TO PONDER: Am I sensitive to divine openings, or do I miss them through distraction and delay? What one ripe person has God placed near me that I must speak to and follow up this week?

PRIÈRE: Lord, sharpen my discernment and redeem my time. Lead me to prepared hearts, and give me courage to speak, win, and follow up well, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
