3 décembre 2025 : Quand le désir devient un piège – Jérémie 17:9 ; Jacques 1:14-15

One of the greatest enemies of destiny is the uncontrolled desire of man. The Bible says, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9). If your heart remains unsubmitted to the Lordship of Jesus, it will produce cravings that look right but are poisonous to your future. Many marriages collapsed not because the devil had power, but because a man or woman exalted their feelings above God’s will. Desire can be subtle: a preference for shape, height, or tribe: yet it can become the very snare that disconnects a person from destiny. James warned that “every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin… bringeth forth death” (James 1:14–15). That is not romance; that is execution.

I have seen young people fast and pray, yet they carry unbroken desires like idols in their hearts. They kneel before God but still insist on their “type.” That is not submission; that is rebellion in church clothes. Don’t forget: when Jesus prayed in Gethsemane, He crushed His will beneath the Father’s. He didn’t deny He had desires; He surrendered them. Until you bring your desires under the cross, they will lead you astray. Ishmael looks convenient, but he will mock your covenant child tomorrow. Destiny is too heavy to be placed on the fragile shelf of feelings. That is why some people married someone who “looked” spiritual in courtship, only to discover later they had wedded an agent of darkness.

A wedding ring cannot convert a wrong spirit.

You must therefore examine yourself today: are your choices driven by revelation or attraction? Do you filter your marital choice by divine assignment or family pressure? Destiny demands brutal sincerity. (1) Place your desires on God’s altar until nothing matters but His voice. (2) Let the Word of God judge your motives: if Scripture condemns what excites you, repent. (3) Submit to authority; let fathers and mothers in the faith be involved in your marriage. Carry your Pastor along. Rebellion hides in secrecy. (4) Accept that God sees further than your background, ambition, and “taste.” He knows the future of every face you admire now. He knows which smile hides chains and which weakness hides destiny. When your desire is submitted to God, it becomes purified; but when it is exalted, it becomes a snare. I pray that your desires will no longer mislead you; your eyes will see clearly; you will not be trapped by appetite but be led into destiny by the Spirit of God.

THOUGHT TO PONDER: Are my choices secretly powered by unbroken desires? Have I allowed the Word and the Spirit to refine my motives before making destiny decisions?

PRIÈRE: Lord, purge my heart of every idol and align my desires with Your will, so I may not fall into the trap of the flesh.
