You have to go in search of the Word of God and there are three expressions of the Word in the Bible.
1. The Living Word
John 1:1-4
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
When the Bible refers to the Word in the scripture above, it comes from the Greek word logos, which is referred to as “The Living Word”.
This is Jesus, the Word of God that is sitting at the right hand of the Father in heaven.
2. The Written Word
2 Timothy 3:16-17
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
The word “scripture” in the passage above is called graphé in Greek, which means the written Word of God. The written scripture is given to us to encounter the Living Word as we study it.
PRAYER: Holy Spirit, I ask that you enlighten the eyes of my spirit to behold wondrous things in the Word of God as I study, in Jesus’ name. Amen!’
