We are in a generation in which people believe what you do or how you live your life doesn’t really matter. They believe that what you do in the house of God is what matters and not other things outside His house. They feel service guarantees them a great future ahead, but I want you to know that God wants you to keep a close eye on yourself first of all before you begin to focus on the work. It is easy to get so consumed with the work of God that you neglect the God of the work. God wants divine involvement in our lives and not divine intervention alone.

One of the greatest victories you can have in life is to have victory over yourself. Several people do not conquer themselves like Samson whose lust, desire, appetite and other personal things had a greater prominence in his life above divine demands which made him to promote his will above the will of God. God doesn’t want you to end up like Samson. God wants you to be temperate in all things and not in some things. Be temperate in the spirit, in the mind, in the body, in finances, in sexual matters and in everything. Never allow the devil to sell you the idea that your anointing for work is separate from your life.

There are two levels of anointing that a child of God must carry. One is the level of anointing that comes because of your relationship with God and the second level is the one that comes because of your calling. The one that comes because of your calling is not a product of your effort because God called you and He anoints you. Anybody that God calls is also given supernatural equipment to fulfil the call. The anointing that comes because of your relationship with God is a product of consistent walk and intimacy with God. There is no way you will be intimate with God and God wouldn’t release the anointing you need to run your life. This anointing is given in the wisdom (expressed in insight, concept and ideas) and grace that your life shows to your world.

You must not build your values on the anointing that comes because of your calling  neither  must you take your sense of approval from the anointing on your calling, instead, build it based on your relationship with God. It is possible for a man to still be carrying the anointing of his calling when his life is no more pleasing to God. Pursue first the anointing that comes from God based on your relationship with him and he is committed to give you the anointing needed for your calling without stress.

Prayer: Lord, help me to take heed to myself by focusing more on my relationship with you, so that I can serve you genuinely and receive the anointing needed to run my life and my calling. Amen.
