If you look at the two Bible passages above carefully, you will discover that one word is common in both, and that is the word “end”. Proverbs 23:18 says that, “For surely there is an end...” and that is the truth. Everything and everyone in life has an end, but there is an end that God desires for His children and that is what the bible calls the expected end in Jeremiah 29:11. The expectation of God for your life is according to the end that He has ordained for you. Romans 8: 29 - 30; Jeremiah 1:1- 5

There is an end that God has set for you in life and all His thoughts and expectations concerning your life are towards making that end that He has ordained for you come to pass. In essence, the expectation of God over the life of a man which is born out of the divine destiny that God has for a man and the good end that He has ordained for a man before the foundation of the earth is what informs the thoughts of God concerning a man.

There is in the same way, another kind of end that the devil has planned for you and of course men can also plan a different kind of end for you, but the truth is that God has a particular end in view for you. Your life may not look like it is going towards that God-desired end but He is constantly thinking about it for you. Do you know that when God looks at your life, the thoughts that occupy His mind towards you is, “what do I have to do next to make sure that what I intended come to pass over this life, not what the devil intended or what men intended”.

The end that God has in mind for us is connected to the thought of God for us. The Jews were expecting Peter to be killed but that was not the thought and expectation of God concerning him and you see, you are going to start out on a wrong note in life if you keep your mind on what the devil and men expect and think of your life and not what is on the mind of God concerning you. You are going to be defeated in life if you lose sight of the fact that God has some good thoughts concerning you.

Your life and existence is a manifestation of the thoughts of God. You are not a mistake on the earth. Your birth was not an accident; it was a manifestation of divine thinking; God was thinking something in His mind before you were born. He thought about you in eternity. You were born into this world because God had a thought. Actually, one can say you are God’s idea originally and not your parents’ idea. It therefore means that your very life on the earth should be a construction of the thoughts of God.

Prayer: Father, I pray that you will help me to understand the thoughts and end you have for my life and not to be drifted by satanic lies in Jesus’ name. Amen.
