The word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jer. 1:4-5

There are three stages of human existence; before birth, on the earth and after death. Divine appointment starts with a spirit without a body existing in the presence of God, but responsibility starts with your life on the earth to do what you have been appointed to be and to do. Once you are born on the earth, it is now your responsibility to do what you have been appointed to do here. Your life on the earth is not a game nor is it a joke but a responsibility to do what you are appointed to do. You will also give account for every divine appointment of God on your life.

In the case of Jeremiah, based on the text above, he was born a Jew and at this time he was doing something different from what he was appointed to do. The major problem and challenge we face on the earth is when people become what they were not appointed to be on the earth. This is the joy of the devil and the misfortune of man. Alignment comes when you are taking responsibility for your divine appointment as it was apportioned you before you came on the earth. Accountability becomes applicable after death.

There are two ways a man can die:

•to finish and depart the body or

•to be forced to exit the body.

You must be determined that you will not be forced to exit the body but that you will finish the course you are appointed to do. You should fight to remain alive and finish your divine assignment on the earth. Balaam prayed that he will die the death of the righteous; God did not design for a Christian to be forced to exit the body but to finish his appointment and depart from the body. Apostle Paul said I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course and have kept the faith (2 Tim 4:7). Let this be your own experience when you will be departing this earth. When you will be going let it be that people will crying while you will rejoice. Be ready to stay alive to discharge fully the responsibilities of your existence on the earth. May you be the joy of many generations and may your world feel your impact.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for the baptism of the awareness of my divine appointment and responsibilities on the earth. Help me to fulfil the purpose of my being on the earth and to finish the course marked out for me. I receive grace and all divine equipping for my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
