Don’t rise early and go out; rise early and go into the presence of God. Let God minister to you, let God speak to you. Make it a practice that the first person you talk to is God Almighty. I try my best to do that even though my work makes it difficult because people can call me at any time. If you don’t talk to God first, you’d have many things that will take up your day. Let God give you His interpretation and view of life before you begin to get other views of life, else, you’d get confused. If you don’t arrange your day from the night, the devil wants to arrange your day from the night.

One man of God used to say when we started in the ministry that, “If you get into the day before the devil, he will be behind you but if the devil gets into the day before you, you will be running after him throughout the day.” He’ll be the one to determine what happens to you throughout the day. And if you look at the champions of God, every one of them had one habit or the other. And if the habit that people attach to your life is not a positive habit, you are a looser going somewhere to happen someday even if you’re still winning now.

Every champion, whether in the secular or spiritual have habits; things they do consistently on a daily basis. No matter how they feel, no matter what is happening or the weather, they keep doing that thing over and over and over again. It doesn’t have to be enjoyable but they do it. Don’t let the only habit you have in your life be that you wake up in the morning and go out into the day without talking to God. You must do something that is contributing to your destiny, spiritual health, and spiritual safety on a daily basis. The Bible says of the Lord Jesus Christ that He rose up early and went out of the house to a deserted place to pray. Let a word from God shape your reality daily.

Prayer: Lord, I receive grace to be an early seeker and God’s chaser in Jesus name. I receive wisdom to balance my life and practice divine presence that will defeat the devil on a daily basis in Jesus’ name. Amen.
