If the Church of God will make impact and indeed be the salt of the earth, we must not come under the evil flow of the generation we find ourselves. The same faith that we exercise to overcome the world behoves us to live as pilgrims on the earth. It doesn’t matter what fashion is coming upon this generation, the children of God must maintain their identity and be witnesses for God.

Genuine Christianity doesn’t adapt to the spirit of the world but confronts the spirit at work in the children of disobedience because “Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4). Greater is the spirit of God in the church than the spirit of evil in every generation Christians find themselves.

If a generation fails God, He will wait for their children to fulfil His mandate. The children of Israel that God brought out of Egypt didn’t enter the Promised Land because they failed and God raised up their children. Just when Eli’s children failed their generation, God raised Samuel under the same roof. One of the greatest assignments upon this generation is to usher the Lord Jesus Christ back in the rapture. Take your place in that assignment or be replaced.

The Bible says David served the will of God in His own generation. Proverbs chapter 30 advises God’s children that if your generation curse their father (verse 11); or choose filthiness (verse 12); or exalt themselves in pride. You must stand your ground as a standard of God.

God wants us to be examples. God wants you and I to be His standard; God wants the church to be the standard in every generation. God has chosen the Church of Jesus Christ, yes Born Again Christians to be His standard bearers for this generation. Will you shine your light or blend with the world?

Prayer: Lord, I will not fail you. Help me and strengthen me that if sinners entice me, I will not consent to sin. Perfect your work in me that I will be a light in my generation in Jesus’ name. Amen.
