Honour in Greek means, “to set a value on”. God wants us to honour Him; He has set a value on Himself and doesn't want us to lower it by comparing Him with something or someone. When you understand this, it changes how you worship God. The best way to worship God is to use the words that God used for Himself to worship Him.

There’s nothing better than having a father who gives you value. An adult without a sense of value is a danger to people around. If you don’t value yourself, you can’t value anyone. Build a culture of value for yourself. A correct sense of value doesn't come from one's possessions but from a father who has done his job. Status can’t give you value and if success comes as a surprise to you, it can also destroy you. Success should be part of what you‘re expecting as you walk with God. Your confidence must come from 3 things:

1. Your connection to God

2. Your calling

3. Your competence

If you are connected to God, nobody can reject you anywhere. Your calling makes a way for you; let the anointing upon you speak for itself. People that don’t learn under the loving authority of a father will learn under wicked people. What you don’t get by instruction, you will get by destruction. What values will you build and expose your life to today so as to become a better you?

Prayer: Father, I pray for a fresh baptism of awareness of my connection to you, my calling and the abilities you have deposited in me. May I not trivialize the lessons and instructions designed to add value to my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
