People like to describe other people by the problems in their lives. It is a practice that is common to human beings. When you want to describe somebody in your neighbourhood, you hardly use something good about them. For example, concerning Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist, the angel said to Mary in Luke 1: 36, “this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.”

People called her barren but God didn’t call her barren. Why then are you disturbed by the negative things that people use to describe you? Why are you worried about the negative name(s) they have given you when you know that God does not call you that? Your focus should be how to understand God’s perspective of situations and circumstances that confront you. The following facts about life’s problems are very crucial and you need to understand them:

1. There are two kinds of problems: natural problems and supernatural (demonic) problems. Many people are trying to solve supernatural (demonic) problems by natural means. It is not possible. There are cases of problems in the lives of people (whether sickness, mental, financial, physical, academic or marital), that are purely demonic. Such problems require supernatural God-ordained solutions. There are people that are trying to solve natural problems supernaturally and in the process they get more confused and compound their problems. You must be able to separate which case applies to you. It is the word of God and our service in the house of God that helps us understand and distinguish which kind of problem we are dealing with.

2. Every problem has a source. Acts 10:38 shows that oppression is a direct work of the devil, the evil one who is behind all problems. When you don’t understand that, you cannot exercise your faith and authority over the devil to solve problems in your life. Many people assume God is using problems in their lives to teach them something (I Corinthians 10: 13). No! God doesn’t teach people with problems, He teaches us through His word. Jesus cursed the fig tree and it withered from its root. When you know the devil is the source of every evil, you will know how and where to direct the sword of the spirit which is the word of God in your mouth to UPROOT, PULL DOWN, DESTROY and THROW DOWN the parade of the devil in your situation and circumstances (Jeremiah 1:9-10).

PRAYERI take authority over every work of the devil in my life and command an utter end to them today in Jesus’ name! I receive the wisdom to solve natural problems in Jesus’ name, Amen.
