LEADERS CLARIFY THINGS - I Corinthians 14:8

One of the things that leadership life will do for you is that it will help you make things clear. A leader does not confuse issues. Some people have a gift of complication; a leader must have a gift of simplification. You must not complicate matters. When leadership life begins to develop inside you, it clarifies matters. Providing direction is one of the core duties of a leader and if those directions are not clear, a leader’s followers will be confused.

Apostle Paul put it well in 1 Corinthians 14: 8:“For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?” Don’t ever let the devil wrap you up in confusion, stop and clarify your thoughts again. Leaders must try to keep their lives simple so that they can maintain clarity of focus on what’s important. In your work and interaction as a leader, you should make it a duty to consciously work towards becoming clearer in your interactions and instructions.

There is no need to make things more difficult than they already are. You must realize that giving clarity is one of the key solutions a leader brings to the lives of those he/she leads. If you give an assignment to your subordinates, are they clear on what you want? Have you clearly communicated your standards and requirements in such a way that you can safely delegate things to your subordinates and trust that they will do them as you want? You will be wise to aim to be clearer as a leader.

PRAYER: Lord I pray for the grace to simplify complex matters in Jesus’ name. Amen!
