DON’T LET SIN DERAIL YOUR DESTINY [1 John 3:8-10 (Amplified)]

The fourth possible path a man can take is the wrong path that satan and sin planned for him. Don't follow the path of sin because it will get you into the hands of the devil somewhere. No matter how good it seems, if sin and unrighteousness is involved in what you are doing with your life, the devil will hijack your destiny if you continue.

The devil is a master at constructing roads that lead to destruction. Engaging in immoral activities will land you in the devil’s trap. When we were young, if you wanted to catch a chicken, you would create a trail of maize grains leading to a cage and then put lots of grains in the cage; as soon as the chicken enters the cage, you shut it until you’re ready to kill it. That's like the devil luring his victims with carrots of sin. If you are a banker and you are stealing money that is not yours, one day you will be caught and your destiny will be caged.

The wrong path has three corollaries: 1) what you could have been in your natural heritage. This is what your parents were. If your father was a drunkard, you are most likely going to become that unless you become born again and embrace your divine destiny. 2) What you could have been in sin. The devil will keep tempting you with things you loved as a sinner. If you were a promiscuous man or woman; and you are now saved, build your defenses, so that the devil doesn’t take you back to your vomit.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank you for saving me. I renounce every habitual sin and I refuse to keep a secret with the devil. Help me so that sin will not have dominion over me in Jesus’ name.
