DOES GOD OWN YOU AND EVERYTHING YOU HAVE? [EXODUS 35:21-29, EXODUS 36:5-7]

In Exodus 35, God told Moses to tell the children of Israel to bring an offering for Him.It is the people of God that build the house of God- that is God’s pattern. I know of a brother in a church who usually leaves the church whenever there is an ongoing building project, only to come back when it’s completed. That is a foolish believer and he is not a true worshipper.

Even if you have all the money in the world, your money is not enough to sponsor the work of God. God will forever be God! Any opportunity you have to do anything for the Lord is your opportunity to tap into the power of God to work in your life. If you don’t do it, someone else will do it in a better way.

In the passage above, God told Moses to call the children of Israel to bring an offering for Him and Moses did. Verse 21 says,“And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up… every one whom his spirit made willing.” God wants a cheerful giver – such that whatever you do is as unto the Lord. In verse 29, the children of Israel brought a willing offering unto the Lord, the Bible says, “every man and woman, whose heart made them willing to bring for all manner of work, which the Lord had commanded…”

And what happened? They brought more than enough (Exodus 36:5-7). These are worshippers who lavished all they had! They were people who knew that God owned them and everything they had.The work of God suffers because the people that gather are not worshippers, but takers.

PRAYER: Lord, I submit myself and all that I have unto you, take them all for your own highest purpose in Jesus’ name. Amen!
