DON’T SING THE SONGS OF ZION IN A STRANGE LAND [ROMANS 8:5-8, 12-14; PSALM 15:1-5]

God is very particular about who you are outside church and He wouldn’t simply respond to you because you are singing a worship song. You cannot continue in sin and immorality and come to church lifting up holy hands, you are simply singing the Lord’s song in a strange land. There are many believers who still like worldly songs and they try to adapt the Gospel to the tunes of worldly songs that still tickle their fancies. The sinful nature in them has not been destroyed and they change songs like that of Bob Marley into a pseudo Gospel song titled; “No Jesus, no life".

Don’t sing the songs of Zion in a strange land and don’t sing strange songs in Zion. All sorts of carnal trends have come up in Christian music today. Beloved, there’s no need to look to the sinners for songs or melody. Settle down under the spirit of the Lord and download the songs of Zion!

Some Christian gatherings are akin to wild parties. I was once invited to such a place; during worship, all I could do was pray in tongues, asking for mercy, saying; “Lord, don’t let the anointing on me lift until they get me the microphone.”  The sisters leading the “singing” (not worship) were wriggling and twisting promiscuously like snakes and the brother with me had to request for permission to stay outside the church.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the boldness to refuse worldliness in worship wherever I find myself. I receive grace to mortify the sinful nature in me in Jesus’ name.
