This month, we will consider the call of God to all believers to worship Him. Worship is the first and highest assignment that God has for you as a believer and He has His definition for it. Worship means different things to different people but in order to worship God acceptably, you need to embrace His own concept of worship. Only then are you able to worship Him in spirit and in truth.
God created everything for His pleasure (Revelations 4:11) and when the works of His hands make effort to please Him, He derives joy and pleasure. The heavenly hosts never get tired of worshipping God because that is what they were created for. However,God is still seeking for the worship of human beings made in His image and likeness.
From time immemorial, the god that individuals worship is determined by what they serve with their lives. In the Yoruba mythology, worshippers of different false gods observe different principles in their lives and you are able to decipher whose worshipper they are.
Dear reader, we know who you serve by who you worship with your life. As you will discover over the course of this month, you will understand that worshipping God goes beyond what you do on Sunday for a few minutes. True believers who worship Jesus Christ in spirit and in truth understand that it is a life calling and not just a Sunday affair only.
PRAYER: Lord, I respond afresh to your call to worship. Let the words of my mouth, the meditations of my heart, the private and public conduct of my life be pleasing to you in Jesus’ name.
