Bible says, “If a man stumbles not in words the same is a perfect (mature) man.” Mastering your mouth makes you master your life and nobody qualifies to make much progress in life until he can master his mouth.

Sickness kills by permission. The scriptures say, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” The kindling that stokes the fire is the words spoken in your relaxed, unguarded hours (James 3:5). In mastering your mouth, you must belong to the kingdom group who “say and see”. Others do the opposite, they see and then say. Note the following:

1.Your tongue is the steering wheel of your life (James 3:4). Your tongue is the instrument of control.

2.Your tongue is a fire (Jeremiah 5:14). If God will help you, He will use your words. Also, the devil will fight you with your words. In Genesis 1:1-27, God practised the “I say, I see principle.” Your future is what you are saying with your words.

3.Mastering the tongue will purify a man. Your mouth will break any negative thoughts going on in your mind.

Job 22:29 advises us to say, “There’s a lifting up” even if everyone around us is being cast down because God will always stand to defend His word whenever and anywhere it is spoken. Master your mouth!

PRAYER: Lord, help me to take advantage of the power you have given me through the confession of my mouth. I cancel every negative word I have spoken in the past in Jesus’ name. Amen
