There’s a major key for us as believers in verse 38. It says, “For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.” Has there been a situation when you did the will of God and you didn’t get your desired result? If you’ve ever asked in faith according to His will and you didn’t get your answer, you need the key of patience.
PATIENCE IS THE INNER FORCE THAT KEEPS YOU FROM GIVING UP. Abraham, our example of patience waited twenty five years for Isaac, the promise child. His case is mild when compared to Noah’s. God told Noah that a rain was coming that would lead to a flood. However, one hundred and twenty years passed without rain but Noah kept on preaching, “There’s going to be a flood!” He kept on building the ark. The people mocked him and continued in their disobedience but Noah was unmoved because he had faith and patience, until the rain came. Hold on to God’s promise because it will come to pass.
The Bible says, “That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises” (Heb. 6:12). Some Christians rejoice that they have faith but faith alone will not produce your desired outcome. Remember the parable of the sower in Luke chapter 8 verse 15 that says, “But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.” If you are going to bring forth the fruits of your faith, you will have to do it with patience.
PRAYER: Lord, I refuse to give up in my fight of faith. I receive the inner quietness that tarries until my faith manifests in Jesus’ name. Amen.
