The second category of angels are protecting angels. These are angels that are on assignment to render protection to the believer in all situations of life.

The angel of the Lord encamps round about them that fears him and delivereth them. Psalm 34:7

The word “encamp” here means to have something like a tent around you. You need to know that there are angels encamping around you. Everywhere you go, there is a protective shield that moves around you – shielding you from the darts of the enemy.

In 2 Kings 6, we see the story of Elisha whom the king of Syria had sent his solders to capture. When the servant of Elisha beheld the army, he was afraid. He said, “What are we going to do master?”, and Elisha said to him, “They that are with us are more than they that are with them.” Elisha then prayed for the eyes of the servant to be opened that he may see. When God opened his eyes, he saw that the mountain was full of angels round about Elisha.  As they surrounded Elisha then, they surround you too now if you are a child of God. They surrounded Elisha because he belonged to God, and they surround you too because you belong to God.

This is what this category of angels do. They surround and protect those who fear the Lord. They are in charge of their protection. Psalms 91:11 says For he shall give his angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways...Understand that God uses those angelic protectors to carry His plan of keeping evil away from you as a child of God. Every child of God must walk in the awareness and consciousness of this truth and take advantage of this provision to release their protecting angels and also maximize their ministry.

PRAYER: Lord, open my eyes and heart to see and know the operations of protecting angels you have deployed for my safety. I activate every angelic protection available for keeping evil away from me in Jesus’ name. Amen.
