There are three positions a believer can have towards God.
1.the lord thy God
2.the lord our God
3.the lord my God
The first one which is the main focus is the lowest position i.e THE LORD THY GOD. By this position it means God is real in my Pastor’s life but not real in my life. God is real in my father’s life but He is not real in my life. God is real in another person’s life but not real in my own life.
This position reflects no personal experience with God and a lot of people are walking in this position. They go to church; born again or not born again. They know that God is real but He is not real in their lives, they know that God does miracles, they have seen it but they don’t have enough relationship with Him to ask Him to do it through them but they know somebody that God is working through. So when they talk about God, they say, THE LORD THY GOD.
That was the relationship that Saul, the first king of Israel built with God. He never develop a personal relationship with God, he was satisfied with a secondary relationship with God; that is a relationship through another person. This is the relationship where people experience signs and wonders through people that operate in this kind of relationship they know how to honour a man of God and they see miracles but they don’t have a personal encounter with God. They are miracle and solution seekers, but they do this kind of relationship with God. It is the lowest form or level of relationship you can have with God because it is built around the acts and the doings of God. People that are in this kind of relationship must wake themselves up because it is a deception of the devil to get you to be satisfied before you get to the place that God planned for you.
PRAYER: Lord, I ask for a baptism of intimacy and a personal knowledge of you. Help me to have a personal and daily encounter and revelation of you in Jesus’ name. Amen.
