God is not committed to your reputation. He is committed to your future and to get that future, your heart must be right. Amaziah did what was right, but not with a perfect heart. The decisions that will last are the ones that come from your heart. The things that your heart moves you to do in the presence of God are the things that are acceptable to God. When you look at Paul, it was his heart that the Lord saw.

God is looking for your heart, Can He find the kind of passion, the kind of faith, the kind of love for Him, the kind of desire for Him in your heart? The first thing is to give Him your heart.  He says, “my son, give me your heart, let me work upon your heart, let me shape your heart the way I want to use it”. God is not impressed with our faces, He is impressed with our hearts and this is a foundational matter.

Let God have access to your heart that is what keeps you and Him together. If God will choose anybody to do something great with, to and through, He will check the heart. Elisha gave his rod, the rod of a prophet to Gehazi and said, “Follow a certain woman and lay my rod on her baby”. The rod of a prophet in those days were likened to the staff of a king. He got there, laid his rod on the baby and “there was no sound”. May you be a sendable person.

When people’s hearts are wrong, they are unsendable. The rod of the prophet in those days is synonymous to the name of Jesus today. You can deceive men by our action, but you can’t deceive God by your heart. In fact, the bible says, “God is a God of knowledge, by Him actions are weighed”. The scale that God uses to weigh our actions is the condition of our heart.

PRAYER: Holy Spirit, I willingly give my heart to you today, make me sendable and don’t stop working on this heart until I become the kind of man you can work with in Jesus’ name. Amen.
