Every human being that came from Adam was born with a sick tongue, a tongue that connects one to death and links one up with evil. But now in Christ, we are not only to be saved in our spirit, God wants our mouth to be saved, whole and healed so that we can access the tree of life right here on earth before we get to heaven. This is what Proverbs 15:4 is actually saying, we don’t have to get to heaven to taste the heavenly lifestyle, it is available for us right now through the healing of our tongue. Another translation of the Bible refers to this verse like this: “A healing of the tongue is a tree of life.”
For example, the Bible says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue (Prov. 18:21).” That tells you that death or life are not in the power of sickness, they are choices that we can make now. They are not choices forced on us. Before Jesus came, death or life was a choice that could be forced on you. But after Jesus came, defeated the devil, and took the power of death from the devil, death was no longer a choice forced on you, it became a knowledge-based choice. So if you allow the devil to destroy you, it’s your choice. You can as well make a choice to live. “The wholesome tongue is a tree of life.” That was the tree Adam was chased away from and you know there was a flaming sword placed around that tree so that man will not take it. But now, we have access to that tree through a wholesome tongue.
Do you also know that fruits are used to represent words in the Bible? So when the bible is speaking about the tree of life bringing forth twelve manners of fruits and yielding her fruit every month (Rev. 22:2), it is actually telling us that our mouths can produce fruits from the tree of life for us now, if we develop the wholesome tongue. Therefore, if your tongue is wholesome, that means it’s a tree of life. That means there is healing on your lips; that means you don’t have to fall sick, you can keep sickness away from your surroundings, family and that means you can live the abundant life by the power that lies in your tongue.
PRAYER: Lord, heal my tongue; that my tongue will bring healing to the nations, my family, my business, my life and the lives of people that I come in contact with in the name of Jesus’, Amen..
