I explained to you yesterday that it is important for you to know who you are serving so as to serve Him acceptably.
The sons of Eli entered into divine destiny without the knowledge of the Lord and were destroyed. But look at the child Samuel, the first thing he was exposed to was the knowledge of the person of the Lord which produced a holy fear for the Lord in him. In essence, if a man comes into the full awareness of the destiny and program of God for him without knowing the Lord or taking time to seek to know Him, somewhere in the nearest future the man will come into a head on collision with the Lord.
It is your responsibility to seek the Lord and know Him in this dimension so that your destiny can be preserved. “Every society produces their champions and criminals from the same materials.” Samuel and the sons of Eli were raised in the same place but the knowledge of the Lord preserved Samuel. You will have to determine how you will turn out in life and destiny. I encourage you today, don’t let your story be a story of warning but that of encouragement. The story of the lives of Joseph and David were stories of encouragement, the story of the sons of Eli was a story of warning.
It is possible that you don’t know the Lord like the sons of Eli. It is not too late. Make up your mind today that you will turn out right. Make up your mind that you will finish strong and like Paul, you will one day stand before the Lord to say, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith” (2Tim 4:7).
So shall it be in Jesus’ name (amen).
