“From that time many of his disciples walked back and walked no more with him, and Jesus said unto the twelve will you also go away, then Simon Peter said to whom shall we go? Thou hast the world of eternal life. And we believed and are sure that thou art Christ (the anointed one) the son of the living God” (John 6:66-69)

od anoints loyalty. Loyalty means you have no alternative to God; you have no alternative to the things of the kingdom. Show me a wife that is loyal to her husband, her words will be, “I have no alternative to you, you are not the best husband but we will stay together until we change each other to what we want.” That woman will get blessed staying with the man. And that man who is so loyal to the wife will get blessed staying with her.

Loyalty means, “I will sacrifice my interest for the interest of the people I’m loyal to.” I read the story of a successful football coach in America whose wife became paralyzed and he willingly resigned at the peak of his career at the expense of money and fame to stay with his wife and wheel her around. He was asked why he did that and he said all the days of his life, the woman had stood by him, and sacrificed for him and that in her present condition she needed him too and there could not be a better job for him than to stand by her. That is loyalty.

What Peter meant in the passage above was that they had considered it but found no alternative. It is not wrong to consider an alternative but it is right for you to come to the conclusion that there is no alternative to the will of God for your life, no alternative to the program of God for you and no alternative to the things that God has chosen for you. Anointing comes upon men of loyalty. Loyal staff get anointed with the wisdom of their company founder. Loyal children get anointed with the wisdom of their parents. Disloyal people who steal from an organization never get the wisdom of the organization; they just get something for their stomach and that’s all.

Prayer: Father, I ask that you will guide my heart and steps, you will anoint my eyes and ears to both see and perceive where the future lies so as to commit my loyalty to it in Jesus’ name. Amen.
