Paul said, “According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.” That sounds like a simple verse, but it is a key verse. It means that the precious things of God are given not to the best, but to the trusted. So, one thing must engage your heart – how to make yourself trustworthy to God. One of the greatest issues in the heart of the Holy Spirit is: can he trust us?
If you want to see the doings of the Lord after you get born again irrespective of whether you are a minister or a child of God, there is something that God is looking for and this is foundational – YOUR HEART. Many times, God says, "My son, give me your heart. My son, give me your heart. My son, give me your heart!” Jer 17:9 says, “The heart of a man is desperately wicked and deceitful above all things, who can know it?” Lots of times in the bible, you find people come to the prophet acting as if they want to genuinely know God and the prophet can be deceived but God says, “Don’t mind them, their mouth is drawn close to me but their heart is far from me.” (Mathew 15:8). There are lots of people today that cry, “God I want this,” but their hearts are far from God.
In the days of Catherine Khulman, many people didn’t understand her. She dressed in some of the most outlandish ways you ever saw. In those days, it was not usual for women to speak but then somebody spoke of Catherine Khulman that a time came when it became difficult to know when the Holy Spirit stops speaking and Catherine starts speaking, or when she stops speaking and the Holy Spirit starts to speak. It was so blended. As you set out today, the abiding presence of God will go with you and you will present a heart that God can work with.
