When you look at the power of a seed, it is not in its size. It is in what can come out of it. That little baby that you have, that baby boy that your wife just delivered, do you respect the future enough in him or her to invest the amount of money required in the right kind of education? One of our problems in Africa today is that we disenfranchise women. There are pastors today whose wives should be colossi beside them to make their ministry great but they do not believe in the woman and so do not invest in her.
Start taking things serious when they are small. The smaller it is, the more powerful. People may not respect it, but you must respect it. What are the instructions and materials that God wants you to acquire now to construct the future that He has shown you prophetically? Are you living your life in the context of the future God has given you? Nobody's future is waiting ahead. Everybody’s future is inside him or her. Take anything God has given you serious now, not later. The period of smallness is the period of training for you; it is the period for you to learn your lessons and learn them fast. You will soon leave that level. The bible says, “Don’t despise the days of little beginnings”. Those are the things that God uses. The bible says, “Look at your calling brethren, how that not many mighty men after the flesh, not many great men after the flesh are called.” Why? Because they didn’t respect small things. When David showed up before Goliath, do you know what Goliath did? He laughed! But David did not laugh.
The bible says that, “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but they are mighty through God….” On their own, the weapons are foolish. You sometimes look at yourself and wonder what God sees in you that He wants to use you. That is what God sees. That is what qualifies you. Don’t despise yourself. Through God, those weapons become great things, so don’t despise what God told you. When David wanted to face Goliath, Saul offered his coat of armour; if David had worn it, Goliath would not have laughed but David would not have lasted one second with him. That is why the bible says, “To this man will I look, the man that trembles at my word.” How seriously do you take the things that God says to you in your closet? How seriously do you take the instructions that God gives you? The man that God looks at is the man that takes the things that God says to him seriously and not treating them foolishly.
