There is a great expectation of God on a leader to establish the purpose of God for the people under him through prayers and strong consistent intercession. Godly leadership prevents wastage, destruction or death and also stands against the enemy’s take over.

Leaders determine what is allowed in the spirit, which is why the devil seeks to put his own candidate in leadership at any cadre. The spirit that rule the leaders will ultimately control the affairs of the people being led either by choice or otherwise so we must pray for leaders to be under God’s influence every time. A single decision of a leader can affect the life of millions of people.

1. God will not bypass the responsible for divine information and assignment. To every responsible leader, God is obliged to communicate to you His purpose for whatever you are responsible for and you are responsible to birth that purpose to reality with your intercession.

2.  As a leader you receive divine instruction and direction for people under you in the place of prayer and intercession (Habakkuk 2:1-2).

Every facet of assignment (spiritual or secular) where you have responsibilities attached to leadership assignment or any level of responsibility assignment is an INTERCESSORY CALL.

 For things not to fall apart under your hand, you must hold them up by prayers. See the following examples;

•Paul’s travail - Gal. 4:19

•Paul’s intercession for those on a trip with him - Acts 27:23-26

•David returned to bless his household - II Sam. 6: 18. He blessed the nation as a king.

•Boaz blessed his workers in his business enterprises in Ruth 2:4

•Paul prayed ceaselessly for all the churches under his apostolic watch -Eph. 1: 17-21

 You have an intercessory assignment over people under your watch, supervision, leadership, and service to pray for them. Don’t complain or sentence them to destruction, instead direct their course in the place of prayer. You can determine how people behave under you and also the spirit that moves on and in them under you. If you are faithful in intercession, enforcing God’s will/word in prayers in your area of jurisdiction, God will lift and promote you and trust you with more leadership influence. May the Lord depend on you!

Prayer: Lord, I receive grace to take adequate intercessory responsibility on the areas of influence you have given to me. I will not fail you in Jesus’ name. Amen.
